Description: The Regional Accounting Manager (RAM) is responsible for overseeing accounting operations and ensuring accurate, timely financial reporting for a defined group of operating entities within the organization. This role leads the execution of general ledger activities, month-end close, and compliance with U.S. GAAP and company accounting policies. The RAM ensures financial data integrity by reviewing accounting outputs, maintaining controls, and supporting standardized processes across the region. Reporting to the Regional Financial Director, this position manages accounting staff and coordinates daily accounting activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, intercompany transactions, and financial reporting. The RAM reviews work performed by the team, ensures adherence to established close schedules, and supports the preparation of financial statements and variance analysis using defined reporting frameworks. Additional duties may be assigned as needed to support business operations; however, such duties will be reasonable, job-related, and consistent with the scope, level, and classification of the position.
Essential Functions:
Oversee execution of day-to-day accounting operations for multiple entities in accordance with GAAP and company policies
Review and approve journal entries and account reconciliations within established approval limits
Ensure intercompany transactions are recorded and reconciled in accordance with defined procedures
Review financial statements and variance analyses prepared by staff for accuracy and completeness
Lead the month-end close process and ensure completion within established timelines and checklists
Review accruals, roll-forwards, and balance sheet reconciliations to validate completeness
Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements
Support application of accounting standards and coordinate with corporate accounting on complex transactions
Oversee preparation and submission of sales and use tax documentation in accordance with requirements
Support internal and external audit activities by providing documentation and responding to requests
Assign, review, and monitor work of accounting staff to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to procedures
Provide coaching and development support to team members based on defined performance expectations
Identify process improvement opportunities and implement changes within approved scope
Collaborate with internal teams to support accurate financial reporting and operational alignment
Review and approve transactions such as vendor setups, payment runs, and commission calculations within defined authority limits
Support payroll, bonus, and benefits-related accounting activities in accordance with established processes
Monitor and support resolution of billing or collections-related issues as needed
Ensure bank reconciliations, cash reporting, and financial data are accurate and complete
Identify and escalate accounting issues, control gaps, or non-standard transactions to appropriate leadership
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
Work is performed in an office or remote office environment
Frequent use of computers, accounting systems, and reporting tools
Prolonged periods of sitting, screen time, and data analysis
Regular communication with internal teams across departments and locations
Occasional extended hours during month-end close, audit periods, or reporting deadlines
Experience:
6–8 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA preferred
Demonstrated knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal control practices
Experience supporting multi-entity or decentralized organizations preferred
Experience with month-end close, consolidations, and financial reporting processes
Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, NetSuite) and reporting tools preferred
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet established deadlines
Effective communication skills and ability to work across functional teams
Demonstrated ability to guide and support team performance within defined expectations
