Referral Coordinator (Therapy)

Referral intake & patient scheduling | Therapy | $18-24/ hr

Key responsibilities

• Receive and enter referrals from MedSender and other referral sources and enter into Atlas customized platform 
  
• Triage and tag service type — therapy, med mgmt, psych testing
  
• Contact patients same day — confirm service interest and insurance
  
• Match patient to correct provider based on insurance, location, availability
  
• Schedule appointments for therapy and medication management 
  
• Manage 3-attempt follow-up queue over 2 weeks for unreached patients
  
• Field inbound callbacks from Therarep queue same business day
  
• Discharge patients after 3 failed contact attempts and notify referring practitioner

Required qualifications

• Associate's or bachelor's degree in health sciences, psychology, or related field
  
• Clinical literacy — familiarity with mental health service types and terminology
  
• 1+ year experience in medical or behavioral health administrative role
  
• Strong phone communication and patient-facing skills
• HIPAA knowledge and compliance awareness

Preferred qualifications

• Experience as a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) or medical scheduler
  
• Familiarity with MedSender, Square, or similar platforms
  
• Experience in multi-department or multi-location practice
  
• Bilingual a plus
