The Technical Project Manager is responsible for driving projects to completion and delivering them according to established timelines and within scope They are accountable for developing and maintaining project artifacts. The Technical Project Manager ensures compliance with the Technical PMO methodology, including documentation requirements, change control, proper approvals, and communication plans.

Essential Functions

  • Define and manage project scope, goals, deliverables (that support overall project objectives working with Product Managers and/or Enterprise Project Managers

  • Accountable for delivering complex projects according to PMO standards to achieve the strategic objectives of the project

  • Structure tasks according to predefined sprints within the current JIRA framework.  

  • Monitor progress, address challenges quickly, and notify Product Managers or the Enterprise Project Manager of any plan deviations.

  • Manage project communication and provide weekly updates to a cross functional team on sprint and project progress

  • Manage, facilitate, and maintain CRID (Change Requests, Risks, Issues, Decisions) Log and report weekly.

  • Partner with associated development or technical teams to resolve issues and conflicts within the team.

  • Directing the team to achieve a common goal by establishing a shared vision

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, a technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience required

  • 5 years of IT or technical strategic project management experience required

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred, or willingness to obtain PMP certification within two (2) years of hire

  • Financial services or regulated industry experience preferred

  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies, including both traditional (Waterfall) and Agile (Scrum) frameworks

  • General knowledge of software development life cycles (SDLC)

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Jira, and Confluence

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy required

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, see, talk, hear, and use hands to handle or operate objects, tools, or controls. The employee may occasionally be required to lift, push, or pull up to 20 pounds.

This is an office-based position that requires the ability to remain seated for extended periods of time and to work on a computer for the majority of the workday (approximately 90%).
