Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Cargo Claims Specialist to join their growing claims team. This position will focus on commercial transportation losses involving cargo, freight, and trucking-related physical damage claims.
 
The ideal candidate will have a strong background handling transportation claims from initial assignment through resolution and be comfortable managing files independently while communicating with multiple parties throughout the claims process. Candidates who can work Mountain Time business hours are strongly preferred.
 
Active Texas Adjusters License and coverage experience is required!
 
Responsibilities
  • Manage a low pending of 65-80 commercial cargo losses from initial report through final resolution.

  • Investigate losses to determine applicable coverage, liability, damages, and overall claim exposure.

  • Handle first-party physical damage claims involving commercial trucking risks.

  • Review supporting documentation, loss information, estimates, reports, and other materials needed to properly evaluate claims.

  • Negotiate settlements and work toward timely and appropriate claim resolutions.

  • Coordinate with insureds, carriers, brokers, attorneys, independent experts, and other involved parties throughout the life of the claim.

  • Manage more complex or unusual losses and coordinate additional investigation when necessary.

Qualifications
  • Prior experience handling commercial trucking cargo and/or freight claims required.

  • Experience with commercial trucking physical damage claims strongly preferred.

  • Strong understanding of claims investigation, coverage analysis, liability, damages, and settlement negotiations.

  • Active adjuster license required, with the ability to obtain additional state licenses as necessary.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant professional experience.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to effectively manage an independent caseload while working collaboratively with a claims team.

  • Comfortable utilizing claims management systems and Microsoft Office applications.

  • Experience handling complex or litigated claims is a plus.
