Job Description

Location: Remote

Travel: 15 -25 % travel required

The Project Manager of Architecture and Design (Healthcare) is responsible for implementing the established Intuitive Health design concepts and standards. This individual will thrive in a high growth environment consisting of Free-Standing Emergency Department and Urgent Care facilities across the United States. Responsibilities include leading, collaborating with, and managing a talented team of stakeholders consisting of internal, external, and partner designers, professional staff and external Architectural and Engineering resources. This leader is expected to enhance the patient experience through collaboration with Construction and Real Estate to help establish and maintain a consistent standard of design excellence. Requirements of this position include demonstrating a high degree of creativity, foresight, and judgment in planning, organizing, and guiding architectural programs and activities.

  Project types include Free Standing Emergency Department and Urgent Care facilities, Medical Office Buildings, and a combination thereof. The majority of projects will consist of De novo builds with some Tenant Improvement work. The ability to implement standards in a constantly evolving environment will be key to success. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Independently coordinates work of Project Architects and balances multidiscipline (MEP, Structural, throughout the entire project's development
  • Participates in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance
  • Is able to create conceptual drawings, site plans, and other minor illustrations as needed.
  • Leads design work sessions during all phases of plan documents with internal team members and partner’s representatives; and facilitate sessions in collaboration with the Project Architect and other disciplines as required to advance the work throughout all phases of delivery.
  • Utilizes designated software platforms to upload relevant documents including SD, DD, CD, permit approved sets, RFI’s, specifications, and submittal sheets.
  • Ensures agendas and meeting minutes are conducted after each design call to capture notes and next steps and ensure alignment with partners on design status.
  • Track financial aspects of projects, and coordinate and adjust work effort with team to ensure that work is completed within parameters of agreed-to schedule.
  • Manages Design & Architecture for projects from Schematic Design through project opening, including architecture, civil, and engineering review, RFI’s, and punch list determination.
  • Manages Design process w/ partner and our operations team- keeping them on track and providing bi-weekly updates on status, milestones, and tasks
  • Reviews, approves, and manages A&E proposals and project quotes.
  • Tracks all budget costs and changes for Architecture & Design budget
  • Performs site visits as needed
  • Coordinates review of submittals, RFI responses, and specification verifications with architects and engineers Tracks and addresses permit comments
  • Coordinates with IH & HSP on permit status and anticipated permit approval date
  • Project Managing/Coordinating with Architect/MEP/Civil or HSP on Construction Document execution.
  • File management of all quotes, plans, submittals, and other documents related to their project
  • Oversees and adheres to schedule established for Design and CD process and escalates if delays occur.
  • Strengthens both internal and partner relations through excellence in project delivery
  • Performs other duties as needed

 

COMPETENCIES

  • Knowledge of healthcare design standards, permitting processes, and construction coordination preferred.
  • Experience supporting healthcare facility design and construction projects preferred.

 

  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with operational leaders, consultants, contractors, vendors, and project stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret architectural and construction documents.
  • Knowledge of financial terms and principles with the ability to assist with project budgeting, cost tracking, and basic financial analysis.
  • Experience with Smartsheets, CAD/CAFM software, and project management platforms preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Architecture, Construction Management, Interior Design, or related field.
  • Minimum of 4–6 years of related architectural, design, construction, or healthcare project management experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD required; Revit proficiency strongly preferred.
  • Experience reviewing architectural and construction documents and supporting project implementation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and MS Project.
  • Must be able to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs.
