Physical Security Department
The North America Physical Security Department is focused on delivering a best-in-class security program aligned with Vantage’s vision of becoming the leading industry physical security data center provider. Our mission is to safeguard our data center environments through comprehensive, scalable, and standardized physical security processes that deter threats, promote rapid incident response, ensure regulatory compliance, and support Vantage’s rapid growth.
The department leads all physical security efforts across North America, ensuring that every Vantage data center operates within a consistent, scalable, and standardized security framework. Our teams design and implement physical security programs, systems, and processes that deter threats, strengthen site resiliency, and enable rapid response to incidents. We partner closely with Operations, Engineering, Construction, IT, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure that physical security is embedded into every phase of the asset lifecycle and supports Vantage’s rapid expansion.
Position Overview
The Physical Security Delivery Technical Project Manager (TPM) is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end delivery, execution, commissioning, and operational handover of physical security infrastructure projects within mission-critical data center environments. This role serves as the primary point of coordination between internal design teams, construction management, security operations, system integrators, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure that all physical security systems are delivered safely, on schedule, within scope, and in accordance with organizational standards and industry best practices.
The TPM will directly oversee the deployment and commissioning of physical security technologies including CCTV, access control systems, fencing, vehicle barriers, gate controls, lobby access portals, emergency safety devices, low-voltage cabling infrastructure, security servers, and related supporting systems. The TPM will be responsible for identifying and managing project risks, escalating blockers and design deficiencies, coordinating remediation efforts, and ensuring successful system turnover to operational teams.
This position requires strong technical knowledge of enterprise physical security systems, construction project management expertise, and the ability to lead complex infrastructure deployments in fast-paced construction environments.
Essential Job Functions
Project Delivery & Oversight
• Oversee the full lifecycle delivery of physical security infrastructure projects within active data center construction and retrofit environments.
• Manage the execution of physical security scopes including CCTV systems, access control systems, visitor management systems, fencing and perimeter protection, vehicle gates and barrier systems, lobby access portals and turnstiles, emergency safety devices, security equipment racks and servers, and structured cabling.
• Coordinate directly with onsite Construction Managers, General Contractors (GCs), security integrators, cabling vendors, and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Ensure all physical security systems are installed in accordance with approved design drawings, project specifications, organizational standards, and applicable code requirements.
• Drive project schedule adherence and proactively identify schedule risks, installation deficiencies, resource constraints, and execution gaps.
• Monitor day-to-day field activities to ensure quality installation practices and proper workmanship.
Design Coordination & Technical Review
• Partner closely with internal Physical Security Design and Engineering teams to validate project designs prior to execution.
• Review construction drawings, low-voltage drawings, equipment layouts, and device placement documentation for constructability and alignment with operational requirements.
• Identify design conflicts, scope gaps, or infrastructure deficiencies and coordinate remediation with the appropriate stakeholders.
• Ensure all designs align with corporate safety, operational, and physical security standards.
• Support value engineering discussions and design optimization efforts where applicable.
Commissioning & System Validation
• Lead and oversee commissioning activities for all physical security systems and supporting infrastructure.
• Coordinate and validate device functionality testing, system integration testing, network connectivity verification, server and storage validation, access control functionality, CCTV camera image verification, alarm functionality testing, failover and redundancy testing, and end-to-end operational testing.
• Develop and manage commissioning schedules and readiness activities.
• Identify commissioning failures, document root causes, and directly manage remediation efforts through successful completion.
• Ensure all commissioning documentation, test results, and turnover packages are complete and properly archived.
Risk Management & Escalation
• Document and track all project blockers, risks, installation deficiencies, commissioning failures, and design-related issues.
• Drive issue resolution and coordinate escalation to responsible internal teams, vendors, integrators, or construction stakeholders.
• Maintain detailed punch lists and remediation tracking logs through project closeout.
• Proactively communicate project risks and mitigation strategies to leadership and project stakeholders.
Reporting & Stakeholder Management
• Attend and actively participate in project kickoff meetings, construction coordination meetings, commissioning reviews, and weekly progress meetings.
• Lead project meetings when required and provide clear status updates to stakeholders.
• Submit detailed weekly project status reports to management outlining project progress, schedule status, risks and blockers, open action items, commissioning status, safety concerns, resource constraints, and upcoming milestones.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal teams, vendors, integrators, and operational stakeholders.
Job Requirements:
Required Experience
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience as a physical security professional.
• PMP Certification preferred, or a minimum of 5 years managing physical security delivery projects within a construction environment.
• Strong understanding of enterprise-level physical security systems and infrastructure.
• Experience managing physical security projects in mission-critical or construction environments.
• Working familiarity with Bluebeam and/or AutoCAD.
• Ability to read, interpret, and review construction drawings, low-voltage drawings, security device layouts, single-line diagrams, and network topology drawings.
• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Experience overseeing commissioning activities for enterprise physical security systems and supporting infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of structured cabling and low-voltage installation practices.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in fast-paced environments.
Preferred Experience
• Experience supporting physical security deployments within data center environments.
• Familiarity with enterprise physical security platforms such as Genetec, LenelS2, Avigilon, Milestone, and CCURE.
• Experience working within hyperscale, colocation, or mission-critical infrastructure environments.
• Knowledge of construction project delivery methodologies and commissioning best practices.
• Experience managing security integrators and third-party vendors.
• Understanding of network infrastructure concepts related to physical security systems.

Additional Details
Salary Range: $130,000 - $140,000 (this range is based on Colorado market data and may vary in other locations)
