Job Title: Lead Logistics Project Manager

Location: Remote

Pay Rate: 50.75/hr, W 2

Duration: 12+ Month Contract

Work Mode: Remote

Summary:

• Working Hours: 8am - 5pm, EST or CST candidates; Candidates in CST may need to sign in at 7am EST
• Travel: Possible travel to meet with Vendor, Shop, Freight Witness; 10%, possible international travel

Responsibilities:

• Plan and execute inbound and/or outbound global logistics function.
• Monitor PO’s, plan and coordinate with buyers, vendors, freight forwarders, and carriers to ensure timely, accurate, and cost-effective delivery of goods.
• Act as the customer point of contact for project logistics supporting the client project manager for outbound project delivery.
• Conduct RFQ’s for internal stakeholders to provide cost/cycle scenarios.
• Develop logistics strategy to optimize cycle cost within baseline EAC for outbound projects.
• Manage and report on the full project lifecycle EAC (Estimated cost at completion).
• Support logistics cost ITO strategies that include forecasting, market, and infrastructure data.
• Identify and implement best cost solutions regarding transport mode, route, carrier selection, container utilization, and consolidations.
• Maintain shipment schedules and distribute shipment status reports to key stakeholders.
• Oversee inbound container receipts for warehouse, drop shipments, and direct imports to customers.
• Monitor and track demurrage and detention to reduce cost and ensure accuracy of charges with carriers.
• Oversee process to ensure accuracy of commercial invoices and packing slips, report discrepancies, and reconcile purchase order variances.
• Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and carriers to resolve problems/issues.
• Assist in execution of regional transport programs and manage shipment and custom activities for import services.
• Maintain good relationships with carriers and service providers to improve overall business performance.
• Remain accountable for all defined KPIs and their trends.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in logistics, project management, or supply chain function.
• International logistics experience: transportation, customs, supply chain standards, geographical concerns, free trade agreements, accreditives.
• Advanced knowledge of English; proficiency in an additional language is welcome.
