Position Summary
Reporting directly to the Vice President, Council Development, the Council Operations Manager supports the execution of Council Development and Training priorities by coordinating projects, organizing data, improving the visibility of team work across HQ and moving team work forward. This role also provides support to councils during periods of change to help maintain continuity of program operations.

Working closely with Regional Directors, Training, and cross-functional HQ teams, this role supports consistent execution of team priorities and supports the understanding of the effectiveness of council support efforts over time. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, thrives in a team-oriented environment, and is comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, with a strong commitment to Girls on the Run’s mission.

Responsibilities

Data & Tracking
  • Manage the collection, organization, and maintenance of data related to council development initiatives, council support efforts, and participation in organizational initiatives
  • Analyze and summarize data to evaluate the effectiveness of council support provided by HQ
  • Support the organization and sharing of Council Development data and summaries to improve visibility and accessibility across HQ teams
Project & Change Management
  • Oversee council change processes, including territory expansions or changes, council name or address changes, council leadership changes, and new council launches
  • Develop and maintain council change-related project plans, timelines, and workflows in Asana
  • Coordinate execution across HQ teams and councils to ensure the timely completion of change-related work
  • Document and ensure follow-through and communication of all change-related projects
  • Support project tracking and coordination across broader Council Development and Training initiatives as needed
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, workflows, and process documentation to support consistent execution of Council Development and Training team work
  • Provide structured operational and systems support to Council Development and Council Training teams during staff transitions or temporary capacity gaps to maintain continuity of team work
Council Transition Support
  • Work closely with Regional Directors and VP, Council Development to provide temporary operational and systems-based program support to councils during periods of staff transition.
  • Use knowledge of council-facing platforms (including Pinwheel, Cornerstone, SharePoint, and related tools) to support continuity of operations during transition periods
  • Support coordination and execution of transition support plans in partnership with Regional Directors
Council Support & Coordination
  • Serve as the primary owner of council operations support communications through management of the councilsupport@ inbox, including triage, response, routing, and escalation as needed
  • Track recurring themes and common requests to support awareness of council needs

Qualifications and Skills


  • Experience in operations, project coordination, data management and visualization, or similar roles, preferably within a nonprofit or federated network environment
  • Strong ability to manage multiple projects, set timelines, and support work through to completion
  • Experience collecting, organizing, and summarizing operational or programmatic data to support planning and decision-making
  • Strong written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong follow-through
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (with emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Experience using or quickly learning tools such as Asana, SharePoint, and CRM or learning management platforms; experience with Pinwheel and Cornerstone LMS preferred
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams
  • Girls on the Run council experience preferred
  • Bilingual Spanish/English a plus

This is a remote, exempt, full-time position at 40 hours per week, offering a compensation range of $58,000 - $60,000 depending on experience.
