Construction Project Coordinator 2
Camp Murray, WA
This recruitment is open on an internal basis only to permanent State employees within the Washington Military Department.
Reporting to the State Maintenance and Support Services (SMSS) Branch within the Construction and Facilities Management Office (CFMO), this position is a journey level SMSS administrative and technical specialist on project planning and management, risk assessment, and training and development. Qualifications
-
REQUIRED
Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, building construction, business administration, facilities
management, or related field.
AND
One years of experience managing construction projects, code enforcement, building inspections or
construction/maintenance contracts oversight.
Additional experience may substitute, year-for-year for the education requirement.
DESIRED
Experience:- Project management to include participation in the project process from the planning phase through
fiscal acceptance of completed work.
- Deep familiarity with state laws, administrative codes (like Washington State WACs or local
safety/environmental rules), and relevant agency policies and guidelines. - Mastery of structural, public works project management principles, and asset lifecycle tracking.
- Effectively plan, organize, and perform multiple projects to meet associated deadlines.
- Understanding of relevant standards for the design and construction of Federal and State facilities.
- Analyze proposed projects for overall feasibility and make recommendations to senior management regarding timing and approach.
- The ability to take action to learn and grow.
- The ability to take action to meet the needs of others.
- Utilize Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and SharePoint) to create complex documents in support of business operations.

Compensation: Wage/salary depends on qualifications or rules of promotion.
Background Investigation: Must successfully complete the appropriate background checks required for employment. Must be willing to sign releases of information and shall not have access to any investigative materials and files. The processing of background checks can take up to six months post-employment. Failure to successfully pass a background check may be cause for termination.

- Valid to drive in the State of Washington.
- Must meet requirements of the REAL ID Act. This is required for base access and will be required upon hire.
Military Facility: Willingness to work on a Military Controlled Access Installation.Camp Murray utilizes the Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) for entry to the installation. Must meet access requirements / background check which can be found in the Camp Murray Access Requirements Policy (Unified Policy No. 18-01). This includes possession of an Enhanced Driver’s License, or other REAL ID Compliant Identification.Work Hours: A choice between Tuesday through Friday (4/10 schedule): Monday through Thursday (4/10 schedule): or Monday through Friday (5/8 schedule). The actual hours will start no earlier than 6:00am and end no later than 6:00pm and will include core business hours of 8:00am to 4:00pm.
Telework: This position is eligible for telework. The incumbent will work with their supervisor to identify an appropriate work schedule and balance between remote and in person work based on operational need and employee preference. Reporting to the workstation for work activities or participating in-person meetings will be needed.
Emergency Assignment: Upon activation of the State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC) or Joint Field Office (JFO), incumbent may be required to work in an alternate location with rotating shifts, including weekends and evenings, in a highly stressful and fast-paced environment.
Travel: Occasional statewide travel may be required up to 10% to include overnight stays.
