Description

Provide administrative support to the Asset Recovery and Bankruptcy Litigation Section. Reports to the Assistant Section Chief.

Examples of Duties

  • Provide administrative and backup support to the section staff, including maintaining calendars, scheduling, filing and reporting.
  • Coordinate with Section Chief to ensure proper work flow and provide assistance.
  • Assist with preparation of statistical, agency and other reports.
  • Review and process payments received by the Section, including but not limited to posting payments to the system, reviewing balances, preparing transmittals for payment processing, communicating with agencies about payments, interacting and cooperating with Finance to ensure payments are properly and timely processed and paid to agencies and reported to the agencies when paid.
  • Coordinate with IT as needed to maintain/improve case management system for finance/reporting purposes. 
  • Serve as point of contact for questions regarding payments received and distributed by the section. 
  • Assist with obtaining court and case information as requested or required by agencies, court personnel, opposing counsel, or by management.
  • Answer telephone; type and copy correspondence and routine documents.
  • Assist with docketing pleadings and other documents into case management system.
  • Assist with daily mail distribution.
  • Provide research as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned by Section Chief and Assistant Section Chief.

Typical Skills and Qualifications

Experience with Office products – Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point.  

Experience in bookkeeping and/or other financial processing or recordkeeping preferred.

Understanding of working of the legal system.  

Regular computer use is required with ability to operate case and document tracking systems, word processing software, spreadsheet software, and email software.  

Ability to multi-task in a fast paced – high volume workplace.
