Position Summary:

Role Summary

The Operations Manager performs a broad range of responsibilities focused on delivering a smooth and efficient customer onboarding experience for Sorren’s bookkeeping, accounting and advisory services. This role requires strong technical accounting expertise, sound judgment, and a collaborative mindset to identify complexities in new client books, set clear expectations, and support both clients and internal teams through effective execution. 

The Operations Manager sits on the Operations team and works closely with Accounting, Tax, and other internal partners to remove obstacles, address complex issues, and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of Sorren’s internal operations. 

Your Impact (Essential Duties)

  • Deliver a smooth and efficient customer onboarding experience for Sorren’s bookkeeping services and related add-ons, including but not limited to technology/Saas,  e-commerce, cryptocurrency, and advanced Controller and CFO services. 
  • Apply strong technical accounting expertise to review new client financials, identify complexities, risks, gaps, and historical issues, and determine the appropriate scope of work. 
  • Clearly communicate onboarding requirements, cleanup needs, timelines, and expectations to clients, ensuring alignment before work begins. 
  • Partner closely with Accounting team members to translate identified complexities into actionable plans and ensure proper execution. 
  • Set the tone for a proactive and collaborative relationship between the customer and the Accounting Team. 
  • Support Sorren CAS team members by answering questions related to complex and advanced accounting issues, providing guidance, and removing roadblocks so teams can maintain productivity. 
  • Troubleshoot advanced accounting and operational problems, develop action plans, and recommend solutions or additional services when appropriate. 
  • Perform special projects that support Sorren’s internal CAS operations and focus on improving efficiency, consistency, and quality. 
  • Work collaboratively across Operations, Accounting, Tax, and other internal stakeholders to ensure smooth handoffs and shared accountability. 
  • Support healthy client relationships by serving as a point of coordination and escalation on assigned accounts, working collaboratively with internal teams as needed. 

Your Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience. 
  • 5–8+ years of experience in accounting, client onboarding, or operations-focused roles. 
  • Strong understanding of full-cycle accounting and complex accounting scenarios. 
  • Proven ability to assess messy or incomplete books and set realistic expectations. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Demonstrated success working in collaborative, cross-functional environments.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities. 
  • Comfortable working independently while partnering closely with others. 

Base pay ranges from $85,000-$110,000 per year
